Delay BAH - one hour before 1st flight? Duty Office?
Hi Everyone,
Please can the BAH specialists out there help with this? I have searched the BAH thread and can’t find the answer.
How close to takeoff of the 1st leg of a BAH, can the first flight be moved? (to the next day in my case)
E.g. could it be moved up to 45 mins / 1 hour before takeoff?
Would it be the Duty Office in this case? Or do they only deal with the package, once the first flight has taken off?
The BAH in question contains 4 flights in total.
Luckily there is a multi day gap after the first leg.
Many thanks

AFAIK there is no specific ruling on timing of changes for BAH flights different to normal flights.
BAH have their own phone lines to ring to book or make changes.
Once your package starts they email you a different contact for dealing with IRROPS.
Perhaps if you put in your itinerary and what you think might need re-arranging, when and to what, we can come up with other suggestions?

But caution in that we had priority access to a BA phone agent who were able to change the flight reservation, select seats, check us into the next flight, and then get BAH to issue updated tickets to us in 10 minutes.

My interpretation was that the OP is seeking a voluntary change. Changes due to IRROPS are a different kettle of fish for several reasons.

I wasn't sure in that BA might claim a 3 hour delay is fine and not an irrop! But in any case the OP wasn't entirely clear stating their return journey had a very long connection time and so wasn't a worry. Our experience is you have to watch bookings via Doha where the system will book connecting flights, which while conforming to MCT leave no leeway for even the slightest delay.

The BAH line could\should have dealt with that, but I think you did the right thing to ring your BAEC line given the time sensitive nature and your holding of status.
Amazingly, not everyone booking a BAH is even guaranteed to be a member of BAEC.

That close to departure voluntary changes if strictly subject T&C wouldn’t be allowed. I’d be surprised if the pushed it back a day or made any amendment unless there were exonerating circumstances. If they did change it fare differences and amendment fees might apply.
