The only thing consistent about Resorts World is they're inconsistent.

I stayed here one night Mon-Tue before moving to Encore Tower Suites for next 4 nights. I booked an Strip view king and maybe due to combo of arriving at 9pm on a Tue, the standard suite being 1 category higher up, and this being an Amex FHR stay, I did get upgraded to an standard suite when I asked. They also honored the FHR guaranteed 4pm late check, luckily for me since I had to work from my hotel room the next day. (The bad news is it looks like they pulled all availability for Conrad from Amex FHR online engine. Only Crockfords is available for FHR bookings now, which is not nearly as good a value proposition)

The Standard suite was really nice, big TVs, nice big bath and a 2nd powder room half bathroom was nice too.

At check in, the front desk did mention if not for the FHR contracted guaranteed 4pm late checkout, it'll be $40 to get a 1pm late checkout, $60 for 3pm, and 50% of room rate for 5pm late check out even as a Hilton Diamond member. The FHR $125 credit was good for any place at Resort World I can charge to room with exception of the Italian restaurant. I used it for a very good dinner at Wallys.

The $25/day a person Diamond credit was good at only the kitchen, agave, and suns out. They didn't say anything to me about needing to use the Diamond credits by midnight though. I used it for some Sunout BF sandies at noon next day. At checkout, none of my FHR or Diamond credits posted so I waited 10min while the front desk lady laboriously one by one zeroed out my room charges, applying the credits manually. Luckily I wasn't in a hurry to check out.

I know Genting loves bragging they're the first ultra luxury resort built on the strip in 11 years. However, they got lots to improve on, esp with the Cosmo nearby and especially Wynn Encore across the street.

Wynn Tower Suites still sets the gold standard for me, with Cosmo having more of a party vibe, great restaurants, the terrace balcony, and the great mid strip location.

Resorts World Conrad is par for the course for a USA Conrad, hardware is good compared to domestic Conrads but the wildly inconsistent soft service and tech teething pains does not make for relaxing vacation or even a biz trip once conventions start back up. Lack of late check outs for diamonds and them blocking off all future Conrad FHR space seals the deal for me. (Cosmo gives Marriott Plats/Titaniums 2pm late checkout fwiw)

P.S., Genting rewards mispelled my email when I signed up in person and it was a giant pain waiting on hold to talk to a person to correct it, then fighting the IT issues to register for online access. I was curious what comp offers I got for playing a good amount at Resorts world for 3 nights.

The same level of play at Cosmo got me 3 free midweek nights or discounted weekend nights. Genting offered me a $50 resort credit if I pay the full hilton.com prices, min 2 nights stay to get the $50 credit. Thanks but no thanks. I won't even bother asking for a comp match, I got my comp stay booked at Cosmo for next time already.

She assured me that wasn't the case, that she wasn't holding anything back, there just weren't any suites available. Meanwhile, the app showed at least 9 suites for sale at the time she was telling me she was seeing none in her system. She said maybe this was because they had a sold out weekend and perhaps the rooms weren't clean yet (3 p.m. Tuesday).

I have no idea what they'd do if someone booked those 9 suites for sale and walked in. I suspect the suites would magically become available, but maybe they really were all dirty.

Note: I have read a fair number of other reports of Diamond members getting suite upgrades and late checkouts here mid-week, so maybe I just got unlucky.

The late check out denial just seemed ridiculous, especially since, being in the casino business, you'd think they'd want to keep people around spending money on property when they are slow mid-week.

I'm still not well versed on Hilton T&C - is this annoying rule in place somehow because it's a resort or because Hilton's late checkout benefits are not guaranteed? Like you, I also need to work in hotel rooms and late checkout is one of the most important benefits in hotel loyalty programmes for me. Oh how I miss #spglife ...

Just the hotel's way to fleece you. But they can hide behind the availability clause... even though it's miraculously availabile if you pay.

According to T&C, Hilton honors members, from non-elite to silver/gold/diamond all have the same late check out "based on availability" benefit which hotels interpret 90% of time to mean it's never available for free. The recent infusion of credit card based Hhonors elites haven't helped. If everyone is elite, then no one is really elite.

I learned if you value guaranteed 4pm late checkouts, Marriotts (non-resort hotels) and Hyatt (guaranteed 2pm checkout for mid tier, 4pm for globalist) is the programs to gain elite status in.

Amex FHR is the only consistent rate based 4pm late checkout, Virtuoso, Hilton Impressio etc rates all have late checkout "based on availability" escape clauses too.

hilton impressario gives you resort credit right, not just f/b? can you use it on anything other than food, like spa?

I would have the Impressario travel agent you're booking through confirm that with the hotel. It might be only F&B or both F&B + Spa. Sometimes, the front desk can make an exception and convert it too. Wouldn't hurt to get this in writing since experiences at Resort World is so inconsistent.

E.g., Wynn Encore allowed the virtuoso $100 spa credit to be converted to a F&B credit the two times I stayed there in April and June 2021.

If it's similar to the Amex FHR $125 per stay experience credit, it was "The Food and Beverage credit can be used anywhere with the exclusion of on the fly room service, Brezza and Bar Zazu (opening soon)." So FHR for Conrad Vegas didn't allow the credit to be used towards spa.

Hi

$50 per night is excellent. Do you still have to pay the resort fee on this Priceline rate?

Regards

I agree if you value 4 PM, Hilton might not be for you. I highly disagree that any late checkout is never available. I would say at least 75% of the time, I am given at least 1:30 PM.

Please note the hashtag used by both dchen2 and myself - spg guaranteed 4pm checkout for even lowest status tier (of two possible) Gold

I agree each program has their pros and cons. A hot breakfast is a weak point at Bonvoy whereas Hilton has that base covered better and more consistently (even with the recent domestic $30-50/day F&B credits).

The thing that grinds everyone's gears is the uncertainty and inconsistency. If I want the certainty of a "guaranteed" 4pm late checkout, I listed my options above. An alternative for Hilton props if you want to guarantee late checkout is to reserve and pay for an additional night... judging by the recent Hilton/Conrad Vegas rates, the market has spoken. Frequently you can buy 3 nights at the Conrad Vegas for the price of 2 nights at Cosmo (Bonvoy) or Aria (WOH).

That is a great rate. Looks like 3,500 resort world rooms on midweeks when there's no conferences is overwhelming the market with supply so Resort World is forced to compete with cut throat pricing.
I wouldn't expect or be entitled to hhonors elite benefits booking through an OTA though. And Priceline/Hotwire opaque rates are sadly not eligible for the Hilton price matching.
