Increased Pricing for partner MP Awards April 2024

I may be wrong but looking at any TATL LH F award beginning from tomorrow onwards is showing a price of 154k miles vs the old price of 121k. Awards for flights this evening still show the old price so perhaps the switch is as of tomorrow or it’s just a glitch.

Any thoughts? Sad if true as it’s another (not unexpected) large devaluation less than a year after the prior one in May 2023.

Feel free to move this thread if is better consolidated elsewhere.

Looking into it further it also appears the price of ANA F is increasing to a whopping 242k looking at an ORD-HND on 4/29 which would be a 100% increase.

the LH items may be coming from the LH end and not UA as it appears the price for AC redemptions is now 100k for direct when I recall it being 90 (100 if stopping somewhere) and LifeMiles shows zero availability of any kind for any LH Group flights.

Again not all related to UA but still appears a devaluation to the MP program for F redemptions that was expected after they were not hit last year. We are quickly just turning into Sky Pennies…

LH413 EWR-MUC today is showing 121k (correct pricing). But FRA-IAD on 4/24 and MUC-BOS on 4/26 is 154k. EWR-MUC-BOM is 242k e.g. on 4/24, as is AI nonstop.

Odd. Hopefully an IT bug (154k is pricing LH F US-India, for instance).

yeah all TATL today show the old 121k. Starting tomorrow though is when the pricing all jumps to 154k for TATL and 242k for TPAC. Given the uniformity for the 5/6 cities I checked I fear it’s a purposeful change and not a glitch.

It seems that other dates also have 242k for ANA first class. I wonder if other airlines will change these as well. Quite a bummer ngl

A 100% increase in cost is insane.

particularly since we know this isn’t going to lead to any increase in availability…

A quick check on Aeroplan's F award chart leads me to the conclusion that it was perhaps too good of a deal before. If this means no further devaluations in business partner award prices I can live with it.

There have been other massive increases today. I booked an award 4 days ago at 77k and now it is 99k, a 70k has become 90k.

just when we thought UA couldn’t get worse, they once again teach us wrong. The only thing that is not rising is the 75k earn cap on tickets …

And I seem to be having trouble purchasing some premium cabin partner awards within the LH Group, period. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I think there's more going on here than first meets the eye. Pretty sweet that they have pushed and continue to push folks to earn miles in the last few years to do this (again).

Are these saver I awards that you booked? JN awards constantly fluctuate.

Woof. Just picked up an SFO-HND-xxx in F a week ago @ 110k, 242k would've been a hard no.

Just brutal.

Even United flights increased significantly. Japan-HNL via Guam more than tripled to 400k overnight in First/Business. Bizarre or ridiculous, or both...This can't be real.

of course these are saver awards . Partner I-class went up on these routes over night. So this is not just an adjustment on partner F

United hasn't had an award chart for nearly five years now. I'm certainly not happy about prices increasing, but at some point it has to stop taking people by surprise.
