Hyatt Regency O'Hare Chicago is located at 9300 Bryh Mawr Ave., Chicago, IL 60018.  It is right at the edge of the massive Chicago O'Hare airport.  The location is very convenient for airport stay.

We stayed at this hotel as an one day transit stay due to snowy weather.

At O'Hare airport terminal, we waited for the hotel shuttle.  Since it is a very popular hotel, shuttle ran to all major terminals.  It was just a matter of time waiting.

Check In

Hotel shuttle took us to hotel.  Service was adequate.  The check-in counter is located at the second level through the middle escalator in the middle of the lobby.

The staff at check-in desk was courteous.  Since we arrived very late and we did not request any particular room type, we just requested two queen beds.  This was granted.

Room

Our room was at the insider corner of a mid level floor.  The guest room decor was classic and warm.  It was clean.

The room and furniture clearly shows its age.  It is not new and needs some renovation.  In general, it functions well.

The only thing to keep in mind is that, the hotel is rectangular shape.  Inside the hotel, the hallways all look similar.  I went to another guest room at similar corner as our room.  So remember some hallmarks or room number and do not make the same mistake.

Service

Because of our short stay, we did not use much service.  The shuttle bus drivers were adequate.  We waited at airport terminal for arrival late at night.  The wait was about 30 minutes or so.  It was cold winter, but most family members stayed inside the terminal.  So it was not a huge deal.  The shuttle did go to other terminals to pick up other passengers.  The actual shuttle ride was actually short distance to hotel.  In the morning, we took the first bus to airport terminal due to early flight.  The shuttle was right on time from the hotel.

The hotel check-in staff was also adequate.  We did not request much since we arrived late with the same day booking.

The Perks marketplace was fine too.  It was staffed 24 hours or opened very early.  We had what we needed.

Dining

We did not use hotel regular dining service much.  In the early morning, we did go to Perks marketplace to pick up breakfast and coffee.  I do not recall what they offered, but I think breakfast from Perks was free.  Breakfast and coffee were fresh and good.

It appears to be Regency Club on the top level.  But we did not get chance to use it since I thought it would have been closed at night.  Some say it is open 24/7 with keycard for water and soft drinks.  There could be charge (honor?) for alcohol drinks.

Location

The hotel is located right at the edge of the O'Hare airport.  Some of the airline staff stays there on a regular basis.  On shuttle and inside the hotel, we could see airline staff come in and go all the time.  Some airlines may have booked block rooms, or have long-term contracts with the hotel.

Overall

We had a short stay due to weather delay.  The hotel has excellent location and it is still a full service Hyatt Regency.  The room looks fine and staff was adequate for a business style hotel.

The hotel, guest room and facilities show its age.  I think it has been used heavily.  Some people complain about the airplane noises.  I think the rooms facing inside may have less airport noise.  Mid level floors are also away from inside lobby noises.

This hotel is Hyatt caegory 2, among the 20+ US Regency brand.  For 8,000 Hyatt points, it is a good redemption value for conference, business travel and air transit stay.  Sometimes the cash rate is very low.  For its location and the RC, you get very good value for what you get.
