Stats

The Cove at Atlantis is the newest tower at Atlantis at Paradise Island.  At present time, it is a Marriott Category 7 resort and requires 60,000 points.  It is the most luxury property in the Atlantis complex.

Check In

We took a taxi to Cove from another resort in Bahamas.  The bell staff was attentative and took care of our luggage.

The regular check-in desk was very busy.  So we completed the check-in at the VIP side.

Although Atlantis is affilicated with Marriott, it does not really extend the benefits to Marriott guests.  As a Marriott Platinum elite, we were only upgraded to an high floor ocean view regular suite.  They would not upgrade us to the Azure or the Sapphire suites.  I believe some of those suites were open when we stayed at Cove.

Room

All the guest rooms at Cove are considered suites.  The standard room/suite has the step-down sitting area.  So the room is called suite.  But the living area is not a separate room.

With the location of the Cove tower, almost all rooms have ocean view.  Our room is facing the Royal tower side.  Or it is facing the northeast corner.  The view from the room is spectacular.  Our room is at the second level from the top.

Pool

There are three pools close to Cove.  The large family pool is to the East.  The Reef pool is to the West.

The adult only Cove pool is at the foot of the Cover tower.  It is adult only and require Cove wristband to get in.  We were told that most the celebrities come and stay at Cove only.  They throw a lot of pool parties and some ladies may bear top.  If you so believe it, stay at Cove...

The East pool is shallow and is family friendly.  The West pool near reef is quieter.

Beach

Cove is at the middle and have easy access to both Cove Beach and Paradise Beach.  The Cove Beach is more rocky.  The Paradise Beach is much longer and is suitable for swimming and snorkeling.  We live the Paradise Beach.

Water Sports

Water sports is handled by a 3rd party, located at the Atlantis Lagoon.  They offer various equipment and programs.  All are cost based.

Underwater Aquarium

The underwater aquarium, or the Dig, is the main attraction of the Atlantis.  This is what Atlantis is known for.

Guests can pay for the aquarium snorkeling program.  It is not cheap.  But it offers once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Service

During our stay, we did not have any service related issues.  Happy about the service.

Dining

The food at Atlantis is expensive in US standard.  Some guests pay about $180 per day for the meal plan.

We did not purchase the meal plan because we wanted to sample the food at various restaurants.  There are many varieties to choose.

For lunch and dinner, we also went to the Marina Village to try some of the restaurant outside the resort.  We enjoyed the local food more than the hotel food.

Location

The central location of the Atlantis is the Royal tower.  Both Cove and the Reef towers are new and slightly off center.  But it is a short walking distance to Royal tower.  There are also frequent hotel shuttles to take guests to various location within Atlantis resort complex.

We actually like Cove location better.  It feels less crowded.

Amenities

The main attractions of the Atlantis at Paradise Island is the Atlantis theme, and all the water rides.  There are Aquaventure, Mayan Temple and Power Tower.  There is also the easy river for all ages.

Wristbands are required for all the water activities.

When we were there, it was not crowded.  Sometimes it can get really crowded when the cruise ship docks at Atlantis.

Overall

We visited Atlantis and Bahamas many years ago.  It is good to come back for another visit.  The main attractions are the underwater aquarium, the Atlantis theme and all the water activities.

The Royal tower has past its prime.  The best places to stay are the Reef and Cove towers.  Cove is the most luxury and the top resort.  For the best stay experience, stay at Cove.

There are also various optional packages.  Cove has its own club lounge.  Guest can also purchase daily meal plan for the peace of mind.

I recommend Cove for all the fun.  I'm just not sure if we'll come back very soon.  There are other places to explore.
